Hugene T. Fields, MBA is the financial controller at the Capital Area Food Bank. His expertise is in applying Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), non-GAAP accounting standards and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards. He honed these skills working as a Senior Auditor at Gelman, Rosenberg & Freedman CPA’s. During his tenure, he provided accounting and auditing services to its extensive number of nonprofit clients including associations, private voluntary organizations and charitable institutions.
Mr. Fields has traveled to over 20 countries within various parts Africa, Central Asia and Europe. Mr. Fields also co-authored an article in Accounting Today called “Generational Viewpoints: All Around the World”.
Mr. Fields is a graduate of North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He also graduated from the University of Maryland University College, where he earned his Master’s degree in Business Administration. Hugene joined EBED’s Board of Director in 2017.
